Limousin and Lim-Flex
Our Limousin Program has deep roots. Grandpa and Dad started using
Limousin bulls in 1975 to add muscle and efficiency to their Commercial
Cattle. In 1981, a purebred herd was started and I attended my first
Junior National in 1995 at the age of eight. The herd today consists of
purebred Limousin and Lim-Flex Limousin x Angus to offer our customers the
diversity they need to maximize heterosis, carcass traits, and mothering
ability. Our Limousin herd is enhanced by A.Iing to the strongest sires in
the breed. This year we used Black Dakota, Rulon, and Main Stay. Our
Lim-Flex program is growing as we keep out 3/8 replacement heifers sired
by Elway, a ¾ son of Halfback.

CJ’s Maddie
Selected as the Grand Champion Bred and Owned at the 1996 Junior
Nationals. She has produced several outstanding offspring that have
enhanced our herd and topped sales. We have several females that duplicate
her feminity and performance. Maddie recently produced the 2004 Champion
bull at the Iowa Limousin Field Day that was also selected Reserve
Champion at the Heartland Regional.

CJ’s Elway
Grand Champion Bred and Owned Bull at the 2001 Junior Nationals who went
on to be named Grand Champion Iowa bull at the Iowa State Fair and Supreme
Grand Champion at the World Beef Expo in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We have
been very impressed by his calves as they are born small and push the
scales down at weaning time. Elway is a three-quarter blood bull who is
homozygous polled. We have used Limousin or purebred Angus cows to produce
Lim-flex calves, as well as purebred Limousin cows. The results are the
same consistently uniform and consistently good.
