GOOD
NUMBERS?
Ever buy a 3 month old bull calf in Canada before you
knew what his EPD's were? Or his ratios? Or his scan
data? All these questions raced through my mind when
Cassie called home the Summer of '08 from Canada and
said, "Dad, I'm buying a bull, he is awesome! By the way
he is only 3-months old." It was a long 12 months later
that we brought this new young sire "Rock Star," home.
He posted some HUGE numbers in his contemporary group,
as you can see by his BW, WW, YW Ratios. To top it off
his REA scan of 16.38 was just as impressive. We are
using this out cross sire to add muscle, rib shape and
volume while moderating frame. He is unlike any other
Red Angus bull we have ever seen and we are sure he will
make an impact in our herd. His dam is tremendous,
sound, functional, feminine with a picture perfect
udder. His sire stems from the Cinder Smartin' Up bull
that has made his mark in several Canadian herds. Rock
Star's explosive performance numbers would have to rank
him as one of the most appealing outcross sires in the
U.S. He is in the top 1% of the breed for weaning weight
and yearling weight EPDs. We have progeny coming this
spring and are offering SEMEN FOR SALE.

We couldn't be more excited about the future potential of
this great bull. Our family made the trip to Canada this
summer to attend the once in a lifetime event, the World
Angus Forum. As we were watching the bull show at the forum
in walked Cowboy Cut. He caught the attention of every one
of us. Cowboy Cut is by far the most athletic, free wheeling
bull we have ever seen. He has tremendous set to his
pasterns, is extremely well balanced with excellent rib
shape, muscle and top. There are several judges that seem to
agree with our opinion as he had a very impressive 2008 show
season including: Bull Calf Champion, AJAA & CJAA Shows;
Reserve Grand Champion Bull, "Summer Sizzler" Gold Show;
Peoples Choice Champion Bull, CRAPS Summer Tour; Junior Bull
Calf Champion, Farmfair International; Legends of the Fall
Red Angus Grand Champion; NILE Grand Champion; 2010 NWSS
Reserve Grand Champion.
As an ET calf he currently carries parental EPD's. We expect
these to get a lot better, based on his individual
performance. Cowboy Cut posted a whomping 928 lb 205
adjusted weight and followed that with 1428 lb 365 adj
weight, then posted 16.15 REA scan with 3.81 %IMF. A total
outcross pedigree in the US with lineage tracing to the
great Angus female producer Whitestone Widespread. His
Grandsire, Lazy MC Smash 41N was the NO. 1 Red Angus bull
for registrations in 2008 in Canada and sired the 2008
Canadian Angus Association Female of the Year. We have
several cows that this bull will work extremely well on and
look forward to his progeny for years to come. SEMEN
